Portobello Timebank membership is subscription-free. The minimum age for joining is 16, otherwise we welcome anyone resident in and around EH15 on the North-East side of Edinburgh, whatever your age, gender, religion, nationality, ethnicity, physical ability or socio-economic status. All you need to do is fill in the online  application form using the button below.

You will be asked to supply a password. You will need this (when your membership is activated) to log into your Time and Talents account on the international hOurworld website.

We do NOT require a Basic Disclosure certificate, but instead we ask you to provide two referees who have known you for at least a year, and who are not family or household members. If you supply valid email addresses for your referees they will receive reference requests as soon as you submit, and your application will therefore be processed more quickly.

When we have received satisfactory references your membership will be activated, and you will be invited to attend a short induction session where we will show you how to operate your Time and Talents account and help you enter your first offers and requests.

Remember, you need two references. Emails requesting references are sent as soon as you submit your application, so you might want to ask/warn them first.
