Christmas Wreath Making

Four of us joined Ursula for an evening making Christmas wreaths. The base is a wire ring, a bit like a saint’s halo, into which we pushed moss, binding it with wire as we went. Richard kept us supplied with moss that he and Ursula had raked up from a relative’s lawn, bringing it in from outside by the carrier bag-full, as we were instructed by Ursula to keep pushing in as much as we could to make a good cushion. Then we carried on working round our rings a second time, this time securing yew branchlets, to enlarge the circular decoration.
