The Story of Early Radio

On Thursday 23rd February 17 people (11 members) enjoyed a fascinating talk by Prof. Tom Stevenson. It was a mix of real event stories and the scientific development of radio, with a little about television. The professor was dressed in black tie, mimicking the rule for early radio presenters, and we were treated to a highly polished and professional presentation. In summary, it was a good example of the BBC's motto to inform, educate and entertain! If you missed it, you could listen to David Calder’s Porty Podcast when he interviewed Prof Stevenson. You could also visit the Museum of Communication in Burntisland (open only in the summer). Next Monday will be the 100th anniversary of BBC broadcasting in Scotland!
