Towerbank wild flowers

Over the weekend of 4/5th June 2016 the litter clearance and conservation groups gathered at Towerbank Primary School, and together with Eve Parsons of Building Communities with Gardens set about sowing wildflowers alongside Wilson’s Park, the road coming back around Towerbank playground.

The strip of ground at the foot of the wall was bare ground with little to see other than litter. It had to be properly prepared before seed could be sown, and needed watering and cared for over several weeks afterwards. It was the following year when the result of all this work was to be seen, and then in 2017 the ground was covered in magnificent flowers and it was so established that it didn’t need watering.
